Why track by hours?: Tracking by hours gives a more accurate picture of “how long” I’ve been learning Spanish for.
When did you start learning Spanish?: January 1st, 2023
What do you use to learn Spanish?: Primarily Dreaming Spanish, but also Podcasts and YouTube. All hours tracked are from complete Spanish immersion (no English instruction/flashcards/grammar).
How would you evaluate your current language levels?: My Spanish is definately better than my Russian, but mostly because I haven’t worked on improving my Russian since 2020 (and because Russian is a lot more difficult to learn lol). For Spanish, my listening is by far the best skill I have. For Russian, I think that I could probably read more than I could listen, but because I haven’t really put that to the test. I can write simple sentences in both languages, but it’s still very difficult to communicate.
I have only actually spoken in Russian, I know that my accent is terrible (I used to have a tutor who would correct me all the time). I haven’t spoken with Spanish yet, but I don’t really plan to in the near future unless I’m forced to use it.
